Environmental Responsibility Electricity is just an energy carrier. It is virtuous only if the primary energy generating it is virtuous. The technological evolution of photovoltaic panels now allows for the proposal of flexible sensors, adaptable to curved shapes, very resistant and durable, offering a maximum efficiency of nearly 25% which remains significant even under cloudy skies.
Some Figures As soon as it is exposed to light, the sensor continuously produces energy, whether the Swincar is moving or stationary. During the beautiful season (from early April to late September), at latitudes of 45°, a horizontal 1 m² sensor produces an average power of 150W, which is 12% of the average power needed on a hilly course. If on a sunny day the Swincar runs for one-third of the time, the solar contribution will represent 36% of the energy needs. Solar autonomy can be total by driving 1 hour per day in summer. In other words, a solar roof provides one hour of free and virtuous autonomy per day.
Exclusive Tip When stationary, the pendular nacelle allows the optimization of the solar roof's orientation relative to the sun's rays, which is very interesting in winter when the sun is low.
Removable Kit It includes: clamps screwed to the chassis and roll bar tubes, a very light curved structure (to avoid penalizing the center of gravity height) made of aluminum and wood, a solar panel with a useful surface area of 1 m², a solar controller (voltage regulator), and an invisible harness connected to the battery.
